Every once and a while I’ll spot someone on campus/around town that instantly impresses me with their outfit and wicked awesome fashion abilities. I thought it would be fun to start interviewing these local stylebrities for you guys and to show the internet world that little, old Delaware is pretty stylin’. First up: Caroline LaPrise! She’s a fashion student, style guru for College Fashionista, has her own business, Bonneterie, making adorable ear warmers and has killer clothes! Check out my mini interview with this pretty lady below!
STYLE TAB: How would you describe your personal style?
CAROLINE LAPRISE: I cannot concretely define my personal style because it is constantly evolving. However, I do usually hover around a classic look with bohemian elements. I like to mix things up and always have an interesting twist with every outfit I put together. I also try to sync my hair and makeup with my looks.
ST: Who is/are your style icon(s)?
CL: My all-time style icon is Audrey Hepburn, I’ve loved her ever since I can remember. I also love Francoise Hardy and other women from the 1960’s and 1970’s.
ST: What’s your best piece of style advice?
CL: Dress for you body and your level of comfortability in relation to trends. If you feel uncomfortable in a certain shape or silhouette, you can’t truly be a style star. Confidence is key!
ST: Where do you find inspiration?
CL: I find inspiration in everything! I’m constantly inspired by vintage photographs, movies, art, blogs, celebrities, etc. I’m always on the hunt for something new and interesting to adapt into my life and look.
ST: What’s your favorite trend for Spring 2012?
CL: My favorite trend for Spring 2012 is “Ab Fab.” I saw so many designers featuring that part of the body in their looks. The key to this look is to keep the belly button hidden so you are only exposing below the bandeau line. It’s so fun and I love the little flash of skin!
