Remember when all the cool kids had those L.L. Bean monogrammed backpacks in elementary school and you just had to have one, too? Well that’s how little third grade me felt and looking back on it now, the fact that everyone had a personalized backpack doesn’t really make
it all that personal, does it? I guess being unique and different wasn’t what third grade was all about; it was about fitting in and looking like the cool kids. Well friends, my third grade days are long over, but monogramming & personalization is here to stay! From your jewelry to your walls and electronics, putting your initials on stuff has become quite popular and frankly, I’m diggin’ it.
Current Obsession: Initials & Monograms
Probably the most common way to showoff your name or initials is with your jewelry! Pieces like the ones above come in a variety price ranges depending on the type of quality you want. My favorite piece that definitely shows we live in a digital age is the Twitter handle necklace from Baublebar. Talk about a walking advertisement! Brilliant!
And just in case you forget your name, here are even more things to personalize! I absolutely love the framed letters and monograms because you can get really creative and make them yourself! I actually printed out my own framed monogram today (see top photo & top right in collage) and it took about 5 minutes to do (and it’s free!). Click over to For Chic Sake, and she’ll walk you through all the steps. I also discovered May Books, which let’s you customize your own journal, agenda, notebook etc. They have TONS of awesome patterns and colors to choose from. I wish I found them before I graduated because finding a cute agenda book was always a challenge!
And speaking of customizations, my blogger business cards arrived in the mail today! What do you think of monograms? Would you sport your initials around your neck or on your wall?
